Invitation Letter

YS Conference President
Rev. Alex Y

Asst. Vicar
Rev. Abraham Thomas

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Greetings to all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

On behalf of the Mar Thoma Church of Dallas Farmers Branch Yuvajana Sakhyam, I am happy to welcome all Yuvajana Sakhyam members and their families to the 22nd National Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Conference of the Diocese of North America. The conference will be held at Mar Thoma Church of Dallas, Farmers Branch from September 26 -29, 2024. The Mar Thoma Church created the Yuvajana Sakhyam 91 years ago.  From its humble beginnings the Yuvajana Sakhyam has grown to a vital part of our church and especially the North American Diocese. This progress was only possible by the Grace of God, and the hard work and dedication of our lay members and clergy.

Similar to Daniel in the Old Testament, the Yuvajana Sakhyam is a powerful instrument in the hands of God.  Even though Daniel was in a foreign land, he kept his faith in God and he did not let the culture of Babylon change his faith.  Daniel was a very productive member of the Royal Court, while keeping his faith and his culture. In a similar manner, the members of our Yuvajana Sakhyam have been very productive members in this diocese while maintaining their faith and culture.

The theme of the National Yuvajana Conference this year is: Fashioning A Faith-Full Future.  The conference will be led by Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulose and Very Rev. Dr Sham P Thomas, who is a wonderful orator.  Rev. Thomas is a highly gifted speaker with the education, experience, and passion to deliver meaningful and relevant talks. Achen has spent several years outside India and is well aware of the challenges the diaspora Mar Thoma community faces.

This conference is not only a time for spiritual renewal and to thank God for all His blessings, but it is also a time to plan for the future of our faith, our families, and our church. The Yuvajana Sakhyam will play an important part in the future of our diocese. As Daniel was a symbol of his faith in a foreign land, the talented and dedicated members of the Yuvajana Sakhyam will be needed to help teach our faith and culture to the current and future generations that live in this diocese. As Daniel faced challenges, we will also face challenges such as individualism and instant gratification. Individualism and instant gratification are the twin idols that shape many homes today.

Similar to Daniel, our Yuvajana Sakhyam is called to be a symbol of what God can do even in a foreign land.  To Fashion A Faith-full Future, we need to dedicate ourselves to set an example for the people around us.  To show the people around us the Glory of God and to live a Christian life.  Our members have the motivation, willpower, and commitment to accomplish this task.  We are called to bloom where we are planted, so that God may be glorified and others will receive salvation. May this conference help our members incorporate God's word into their lives so that we will participate in God’s plan of salvation. I wish the conference all blessings and success needed so that all of us can help Fashioning A Faith-Full Future.
